Mac OS X has a display option under system preferences, so if you think the pixel density is too sparse or the font is too big, you could increase the resolution. This can been customized for all external monitors. This particular 24″ LG monitor recommends 1920×1200 pixels.

For me, I kept with 1280×960 pixels because I was using the monitor to design this theme. I needed a more common resolution to get a sense of how most of my visitors view the site.

I was also using it as a TV. So 1280×960 was a good resolution to watch movies from a distance.

First off, loving the new theme.
Would you say the pixel density is too sparse compared to the Macbook? I’m looking to get a screen but I’m worried that fonts are all going to look too big.

I love LG, their design is always impressive. I almost bought my tv from LG just for aesthetic reasons, it’s so tempting.
